Invites the public to mixed artistic performances
In the Saidoun village, Jezzine
Saturday August 17, 2013 – 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
In parallel with the “Saidoun Environment & Agriculture Day”
After 2 weeks spent in the village of Saidoun, the 30 artists and trainers participating in the “Voyages du Geste 7” residency will present short mixed performances for the residents and visitors from Beirut and nearby villages, to demonstrate the skills they acquired and share their insights. The performances will coincide with the “Environment & Agriculture Day” organized by the local agricultural cooperative.
The participating performance artists and trainers come from Lebanon, Palestine, France, Italy and Portugal. They are attending artistic workshops in different disciplines (voice, acting, storytelling, puppetry, movement, etc.).
This is the 7th Performing Arts residency within the Euro-Mediterranean network of cultural associations “Voyages du Geste” and it aims at building the capacities and enhancing the networking opportunities of performance artists in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
It’s organized by Khayal Association with funding from the Anna Lindh foundation.

Artistic Residency in Lebanon
(Voyages du Geste 7- Looking for a spring)
Organized by KHAYAL Association (Lebanon)
in partnership with Association Trisunic (France), Corai (Italy), Propositario Azul (Portugal) and Al-Harah Theatre (Palestine)
WHAT? “Voyages du Geste 7 – Looking for a spring” is a 16-day interdisciplinary residency which aims to build the artistic and human capacities of young performance artists from 5 Euro-Mediterranean countries (France, Italy, Portugal, Palestine and Lebanon). The residency will be jointly run by trainers from the partner associations, in a multicultural and non academic context. The artists will work with the different trainers on many techniques: voice, music, dance, storytelling, puppets, Alexander technique. On the last day the participants will present the result of their work to an audience.
WHEN? 3rd to 19th August 2013.
WHERE? Jezzine caza, South Lebanon.
Target groups:
Lebanese Artists who fulfill the following conditions:
1.To be an artist with a certain level of experience in one of the following fields: music, dance, theatre, circus.
2.To be between 22 and 35 yrs old.
3.To be able to commit for the whole period of the residency.
Registration Fee: LBP 450 000 (covers food, accommodation, workshop fees)
Application: In order to participate please send your CV and motivation letter to the email addresses below before the 15th of May, 2013. The first selection will be done by the end of May, and the shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. Selected candidates will be notified around the 10th of June.
Places are limited – selected candidates are required to confirm their participation by paying the Registration Fee as follows:
– first installment (LBP 150 000) due mid June
– second installment (LBP 150 000) due in July
– third and last installment (LBP 150 000) due beginning of August.

سوف تتضمن الاقامة 20 فنانا من 5 بلدان أورومتوسطية: لبنان, إيطاليا, فرنسا, فلسطين, البرتغال. سوف يتمحور العمل حول التقنيات التالية: الصوت,الموسيقى, الرقص, الدمى, الحكواتي, تقنية ألكسندر.
في نهاية الورشة سيقدم المشتركون نتيجة عملهم أمام الجمهور.

شروط الاشتراك
-أن يكون لدى المشترك خبرة في أحد المجالات التالية: موسيقى, رقص, مسرح, سيرك.
-أن يتراوح عمر المشترك ما بين 22 و 35 سنة.
-أن يستطيع المشترك الإلتزام بطوال فترة الورشة.
التعرفة: 000 450 ليرة لبنانية (تكاليف التدريب, النقل الداخلي,الإقامة والأكل.)
للراغبين بالإشتراك, الرجاء إرسال السيرة الذاتية مع مقدمة عن دوافع الإشتراك إلى العناوين الإلكترونية الواردة أدناه قبل 15أيار 2013. سوف يتم إعلان النتائج الاولية حوالي اواخر ايار. حيث سندعي المختارين الى مقابلة لكي يتحدد من خلالها المشتركين*

It is a project building on a 12-year partnership within the “Voyages du Geste” network and consisting of a 16-day interdisciplinary performing arts residency to build the artistic and human capacities of 20 young performance artists from 5 Euro-Mediterranean countries. The residency will be held in Lebanon and will be jointly run by trainers from the partner associations, in a multicultural artistic and non-academic context. Participants and trainers will engage in a common reflection around the theme “Looking for a Spring”, raising questions such as: What is Revolution? What is Rebirth? What is Democracy? Through different artistic expressions.
Voyages Du Geste 1 was initiated by Association Trisunic – Collectif Subito Presto in France with funding from EU, from PACA Region and Avignon European Capital of Culture for 50 young people from Lebanon, Palestine, Belgium, Italy and France.
